CLIVE thoroughly enjoyed our first MTV Worldstage event ever! If you were at the venue yesterday, i-City, you would have spotted us in our best festival look (we tried) of green parka and folded-up cargo shorts matched with Adidas high-tops. Not knowing what to expect, Pop Shuvit did a good job of working the crowd with their brand of rap-rock — definitely ThirtySTM. We hope to see them back in a headline gig very soon! Korean boyband Beast (that’s Boys of East Standing Tall, for you first-timers) had their moment of screaming tudung girls and synchronized beats and the erm, neon trees at i-City lit up in time for Neon Trees’ rabble-rousing stadium rock. But we have to say that there’s nothing like watching a Thirty Seconds To Mars gig with airplanes skimming over our heads in a psychedelic garden of LED plants. (Hi MTV VJ Holly, we just interviewed her in our July issue BTW, and VJ Utt!) How will MTV top this next year?
